Tattoo commissions

Fri Jul 3, 2009, 8:03 AM
  • Mood: Artistic
  • Listening to: My roommate cook
  • Reading: Heart Shaped Box
I have recently decided to open up my tattoo commissions again since there seems to be a good demand for them. I am grateful for people wanting my work on their body, and honored that you would consider me to do the flash for the artist to put onto your body for the rest of your life. I would just like to state a few simple things, and my rates.

1. Unless I really, really like the idea and was going to do it anyway, I don't work for free when it comes to tattoo stuff. I'll haggle with you on the price, but it's a rare occasion that I will work a commission for nothing. Sorry, don't mean to be rude about it, but it is a little bit of my livelihood.

2. I specialize in Japanese styles but I am a good portrait artist. Whatever you want, I'll do it. Though if it is a style I haven't done before, I'll say so up front and it may take longer for you to get your flash as I try to tweak the work to my liking.

3. I do everything custom. I will work with you for what you want. If you want a dragon, I'll do a dragon, but make it to where it doesn't look like any of the others in my gallery or that I've done for other clients. I believe that if you come to me for a flash, that it should be unique, and that only YOU have that design.

4. My rates are as follows:

-A simple pencil sketch that is small, about three inches wide and long $10-20, depending on the detail or difficulty of the piece.

-A inked work that is small, about three inches wide and long, $30-40, again depending on the detail, and this also starts to take in mind where it's going on the body.

-A more detailed pencil sketch that is medium, about six inches wide or long, $40-50, since it's larger it can contain the amount of detail worth of something that big.

-An inked work of the medium flash, $50-55, this also includes starting to black things out if they're going to be black.

-A pencil work of a larger, more defined, detailed picture that is larger than a foot long or wide, such as a half sleeve or medium back piece, $60 dollars and up depending on the detail work going into it.

-An inked work of the much larger piece, $65-80, again, detail is the deciding factor, as well as where it's going on the body at this point.

-A fully colored, a fully inked, larger piece like a full sleeve or full back can range anywhere from $100-150, maybe even as high as $200.

-Full colored, the works, medium piece is $65-70

-Full colored, the works, small piece is $40-55

These prices are negotiable to within a $5 to $10 margin, and no more. The more expensive pieces I will be more than willing to haggle, but again, I don't work for free.

Thanks for the time to read this guys, and this will now officially be going in a FAQ about me. ^^

Again, it's awesome you guys are considering me for your flashes. Note me and I will get back to you as fast as I can.

thanx for the fav:)
That's a good point. I don't think there's any real character death that I can think of in Batman: the animated series itself. Though it does ocassionally deal with stuff like drug addiction and attempted hits. Even without character death that I can mention, I still respect that one since, though it didn't really touch on that, it also didn't dumb itself down too much if you think about it.
Actually, now that I think about it, Robin's origin story episodes show his parents die (it's technically off-screen but you can tell what happened and the producers even pointed out that the executive meddling in that scene only made it more effective).

That's alright. I think I've at least heard about it. Sometimes I look at a similar site; I'll check later.

Yea, if i remember right, in the animated robin's parents do die. i remember being all kinds of sad when that scene happened, and i agree, the symbolism was so much more hard hitting than an actual death scene. the producers actually probably intensified that, haha.
I just prefer if at least one character dies. dunno why. i think that's why the end of harry potter was so awesome for me. though FRED! why him! though i would be sad if either twin died, fred was my fav.

Yup. That's the reason he gets adopted by Bruce and stuff. Man, I loved that show.
There were a lot of favorite character deaths in that book, weren't there?

Yea there were a lot of those. Snape being the first and foremost but meh. You gotta admit though that Bruce for all his... whackadooness... is pretty bad ass. and he's a little nutty too. >>
